We create remarkable mobile experiences for your users, ensuring long-term relevancy in this fast-paced mobile market.

Mashable is a household name among technologists, entrepreneurs, and web junkies. With 13 million monthly unique visitors, Mashable boasts one of the most engaged online communities and is the largest independent news source dedicated wholly to covering Web 2.0, social media and technology news.

When Mashable approached Intridea to develop their iPad and Android mobile applications we knew how serious the task was. It was our job to determine how to deliver the best possible user experience to Mashable's devoted reader base. Our design and development team worked together closely to create a solution that was both intuitive, aesthetically engaging, and structurally solid.

Oracle is one of the largest and most respected software brands in the world. So, naturally we were excited then they approached Intridea for help in developing Blackberry and Android applications for their users.

Oracle needed a innovative mobile experience to connect and communicate with their users at conferences. Some of the features we developed for these applications include dynamic tabs with directed content that would only show up during conferences, QR Code scanning to link Oracle's printed materials to their apps, and RSS feeds for news, video and social data.

Working with a well-known brand on such an important part of their communication strategy was a great experience. They gave us the chance to deliver the mobile apps to a broad audience and to work closely with their team to define and drive their communication outlet in the mobile space.

Voice of America, a leading international provider of news and information to Iran via satellite television, radio, and the Internet came to us to develop the official application for their Persian New Network (VOA PNN).

Our mobile development and design team created an iPhone application that enabled VOA's users to read the latest news, share stories they like on social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook, and submit their own stories through the VOA PNN application. Users can send photos and videos from their iPhones as well as detailed descriptions of their stories.

By working with Voice of America we were able to help break ground in citizen journalism and mobile news reporting.

HTML5 for Desktop Application Development

by Yong Zhi on February 8, 2012

Most developers know that it makes a lot of sense to develop software that you can "write once and run anywhere." It's more economical, easier to implement cross-platform, and generally leads to fewer headaches. Back when the most important and/or dominant platform was the Desktop, QT and Java made it easy to develop software that could be run anywhere. But enter the Smartphone Era stage-left, and you've got a problem - those solutions are not available on iPhones, iPads, etc.

This has led to a lot of buzz around HTML5-based development for mobile apps (PhoneGap, for example is a popular platform for building applications with HTML5). Often these platforms do not support native UI components, but people seem to care less about standard UI nowadays; authoring UI with HTML5 gives people more freedom on look and feel. Traditionally javascript is very restricted for security reason (no local file/socket access etc), but the restriction can be lifted via browser extension.

So, great - we can use HTML5 to write platform-independent software for smart phones. But, we can also use similar technology to write desktop applications with HTML5 - even better!
